Ebisu is an izakaya restaurant (a Japanese style pub) located in Little Tokyo. The ambience of Ebisu is reminiscent of a typical bar in a Japanese port town. Colorful flags, which Japanese people raise to celebrate a great catch, decorate the walls inside. Chef Yutaro Ebata has also brought in some unique and creative ideas that have enhanced the already outstanding menu at Ebisu. With Chef Yutaro’s relentless devotion,
the wonders of Japanese cuisine are fully realized at Ebisu.

Daikokuya is an enterprise run by the Bishamon Group. President Koyama of the Bishamon Group also runs the Karaoke Bar and Lounge Bishamon, as well as Ebisu. Although Chef Yutaro at one point stopped working for the Group, his culinary skills had earned the respect of Mr. Koyama and Chef Yutaro was eventually invited to rejoin the team.

Chef Yutaro’s grandfather was a successful chef back in Japan. In fact, he was appointed as executive chef at the Imperial Household Agency, serving the Japanese Emperor and Empress. With such a prestigious heritage, we can safely assume Chef Yutaro has a discerning palate. Ebisu manager Mr. Watanabe, who was also present at the interview, said that he definitely gives his seal of approval to quality of Chef Yutaro’s creations. As a closing remark, Chef Yutaro expressed his eagerness to use all his energy and devote himself to achieving higher culinary excellence. His goal is that his creations and Ebisu gain even more acclaim from discerning diners.
