I wanted to eat my fill of Japanese food! So I headed down to Todai in Westminster for a Japanese food all you can eat buffet.

The wide array of food displayed on the buffet counter is almost overwhelming. As soon as I was seated by a waitress, I eagerly rushed to the buffet counter to gaze at the tantalizing prospects. Thinking to myself “I want to eat this, I want to eat that, and that and that, too,” I kept piling food higher on my plate. My plate started overflowing even before getting to the featured sushi items. So I quickly grabbed another plate to get some sushi. Todai offers many unique sushi rolls, but I could not take my eyes off the nigiri. In addition, the noodle soup section is rather appealing. Ever popular udon and ramen noodles are boiled to order. Freshly cooked udon and ramen noodles really are the best! Todai has a wide variety of desserts, too. The mini cream puff and the green tea
cheesecake are both highly recommended.

Now that I had two plates full, I went back to my table
and began eating. The sushi was just great. I felt as though
I could keep eating Todai’s sushi forever. From the hot entree
section, I had chosen orange chicken, sukiyaki, and teriyaki
chicken. I felt an urge to gobble it all down, but that would ruin
the appreciation of the wonderful flavors of each dish. So I tried to
control myself, savoring each dish separately by sipping some tea
in between as palate freshener. Unlike noodle soup, these dishes were pre-made and kept warm at the buffet counter. Therefore, my expectations naturally were not as high for these. Contrary to my assumptions, however, everything was juicy and tender. Not too salty, not too bland, just right. Everything was delightful! As for dessert, I personally loved the green tea cheesecake. The unusual combination of the bitterness of green tea and the sweet acidic taste of cheesecake turned out to be a match made in heaven.

The prices are relatively high for a buffet restaurant. But the huge variety and the exquisite quality of the culinary delights are totally worth it. I stuffed myself till I could not move. But rest assured, I had a big smile on my face by the time I could finally make myself get up to leave.
