The customers
seem to come out of nowhere like the wind. There
is always a line outside of izakaya (Japanese
style pub) Furaibou with first time customers,
customers who hear about the greatness, and
regular customers. Furaibou first opened in
Nagoya, and since then has been serving Japan
for more than 35 years in over 80 locations.
It is a long-standing restaurant. The first
overseas location opened in Los Angeles in 1987.
Their most popular dish, the fried chicken wings,
has been captivating customers for years. It
is so good you would not even mind waiting in
line. Once you get seated at your table, they
give you a warm towel that is relaxing. Their
traditional Japanese ways of treating a customer
right is carried over in the United States too.
Furaibou is ready to take on more customers
with their excellent customer service served

| Fried
chicken wings $3.80
Anyone who eats the fried chicken wings here
will all nod in approval that they have found
the great taste. The perfect harmony of the
secret sauce and the salt and black pepper
goes well with sake and rice. The fresh, high
quality chicken is fried in bubbling hot oil
and therefore all of the extra fat is removed
and becomes a healthy dish. There is actually
a correct way of eating the fried chicken
wings. First you bend the joint the other
way and end up with two pieces. The part you
just broke off has some meat on it, so you
can suck on it. The other part has two thin
bones so remove those and you can easily eat
all of the meat. Since you need to use both
hands, the warm towel serves you well.

Fried
hanpen cheese $4.50
This is also a popular dish. A crunchy outer
shell surrounds the soft and fluffy hanpen.
The taste of the hanpen goes extremely well
with the cheese. And if you dip it in spicy
soy sauce, the slight zing is very addicting.
It is a dish that takes time and effort, yet
the reasonable price is nice to your wallet.
All of the dishes at Furaibou is set at a
reasonable price, and this is one of the reasons
it is a satisfying restaurant. Serving food
like no other. This is what the owner strives,
to make items that are only available at Furaibou.
The time you spend wondering what to eat is
enjoyable too.
