| Japanese lantern
shaped light fixtures create a Japanese mood at
San Sui Tei. The walls are covered with large
stalks of green bamboo, which add a refreshing
and cool ambience to the space. A big screen TV
is placed in the middle of the dining area, so
that guests can enjoy a delicious meal without
missing any of the action from their favorite
sporting events. San Sui Tei offers various flavors
for their signature ramen (Chinese noodle soup).

|
 |
| In addition, the restaurant
provides a variety of sushi, sashimi, and izakaya
(Japanese style pub) menu items. Low levels of
oil and salt are the key concept here and every
dish is prepared with consideration to making
food healthier. Guests can therefore enjoy a meal
that is great for both body and soul. |

Grilled Salmon Ramen $8.95
A juicy slice of grilled salmon is placed on
top of this ramen. Grilled Salmon Ramen is made
with a pork flavored soup base seasoned with
a special hearty red miso (soy bean paste).
The combination of the fatty salmon and the
rich full flavor of the soup is just superb.
The miso flavored soup, salmon, and fresh seafood
in this dish remind me of Ishikari nabe (a local
favorite in Hokkaido, Japan) which is a miso
flavored hot pot dish using plenty of salmon,
vegetables and miso. It tastes rich without
being too oily and has a refreshing finish.

The delicious sweetness
of the salmon is accented with salty miso, creating
a fantastic taste sensation. The resilient flattish
noodles perfectly complete this dish. |

Kobe Ramen $8.25
Kobe Ramen is topped with 6 oz of beef and is
a very popular item at San Sui Tei. It is quite
filling, yet refreshing, because the beef is
cooked in advance by being immersed quickly
in boiling water. The broth is extracted from
various ingredients including beef bones, onions,
ginger, and garlic, simmering them all slowly
for a long time. The delicious flavor of beef
is in every drop of the resulting clear soup.
The combination of crispy bean sprouts and cabbage
with juicy beef is just wonderful. The flattish
egg noodles are silky and smooth. Kobe Ramen
is great for the novice ramen eater, too. |

| The pork bone soup at San Sui
Tei is created after simmering the ingredients
for over 21 hours. Since it has such strong
flavor, some people may have a little trouble
getting used to it. It is, however, very rich
and flavorful, perhaps even addictive! I strongly
encourage readers to give it a try, you may
find a new favorite. |
